Interview Presentation Assignment

General Information

The goal of the Interview Assignment is for students to improve their ability to ask for and acquire information orally, synthesize the information they receive, and present their findings in front of a group. The assignment has five parts: 1) select the topic for the interview, 2) prepare appropriate questions, 3) interview two native English speakers, 4) synthesize their answers, 5) give a presentation that explains what was learned about the topic and reflects on the student’s interviewing experience. If there are multiple interviewees, students can conduct interviews separately with each person or interview them at the same time. Students should plan to spend around 15–20 minutes with each interview subject. Students should record the interviews for analysis purposes. The presentation is worth 20% of the final grade.
