In my opinion, the video is extremely powerful in conveying the dangers of social media. For example, it was so shocking for me to see how the guys looked helpless when their Wi-Fi connection was gone. We must totally agree that we lose the skills to effectively interact with people when we are addicted to social media, just like the guy who forgot words. Also, I very much strongly believe that social media controls our emotions. For example, the look on the adults’ faces when they lose Wi-Fi and when they receive Wi-Fi reminds us of ourselves. Similarly, being college students, if we lose Wi-F at college or home, we will be super frustrated. As a matter of fact and in fact, just like the guys in the video, we will also definitely worry a lot that we won’t be able to scroll through Facebook or Insragram. Moreover, it is incredibly ironic that although one guy firmly states that he is going to listen to himself for the first time in life, he suddenly changes his decision as soon as the Wi-Fi is back. It shows the utmost vulnerability of adults for social media/internet. We are so much dependent on the internet/social media that we forget to enjoy nature. I remember once we organized a camping trip, and some of our friends refused to join because they will not be able to use internet in the camping area. Therefore, as the video showed, it is very evident that social media hinders social interaction, controls our emotions, and makes us vulnerable. There is no argument about that.
