I am grateful for the teachings and support of Jareen K. Meinzen-Derr, PhD, MPH, FACE, whose course, Racism in Research, inspired this book. With no textbook available on the subject, she designed and delivered a curriculum that was both thought-provoking and engaging. Through dynamic discussions based on curated content, she fostered an environment where students were encouraged to share insights and commentary, think critically, and develop a deeper self-awareness of how one’s racial or racism-related perspectives and experiences inform research and practice. This book is my effort to contribute to that dialogue and raise awareness through curated content.
